Condition guide
Choosing the right condition gets you the right offer first time. Here's how we grade, with examples to help you pick.
Excellent
Fully working and barely used. No faults and no visible damage — it looks and runs like new.
- Choose this if: you've used it a handful of times and it's spotless.
Good
Fully working with the normal signs of everyday use — light marks or fine scratches, but nothing broken and everything functions as it should.
- Choose this if: it works perfectly and just looks "used".
Faulty
Has a fault — a weak or dead battery, or a broken or missing part. That is fine; we still buy these.
- Choose this if: it won't switch on, won't hold charge, or something's stopped working.
One exception: we can't accept water- or liquid-damaged items. Liquid damage is unpredictable and unsafe to refurbish — especially the battery — so please don't send these in.
A few things that affect the grade
- Battery health: below 80% the phone needs a new battery before it can be resold, so it is worth less. Check under Settings → Battery → Battery Health & Charging.
- Find My iPhone: this one is pass or fail rather than a grade. A handset still signed into your Apple Account cannot be reset or resold, so it has to be turned off before collection.
- Network lock: a phone locked to a network is worth less than an unlocked one. Say so in the description and the price accounts for it.
Not sure which to pick?
Just choose the closest one — you don't need to get it spot on. If anything turns out different to what you described, we'll always speak to you first before anything changes.
